Creative Discovery Museum is one of the top children's museums in the country and is a vital educational resource across our region. The Museum is searching for a Museum Educator with a proactive, energetic, and fun-loving attitude to ensure a quality experience for all museum guests. This position is responsible for providing interpretation and understanding of exhibits and programs while maintaining a safe, fun, and clean environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in the training of volunteers at the direction of the Volunteer staff Interact with guests by offering walk-ups and other hands-on activities that include clearly articulated educational content Responsible for set-up and clean-up of all After-Hour Birthdays, Lock-ins, Rentals and Group Tour programs; perform necessary duties to ensure program runs smoothly at the discretion of the lead Other duties as assigned by the Education Staff Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required High school diploma One (1) year life experience or formal education in the Arts, Sciences, Early Childhood, or Education Experience working with children aged 2 - 12 Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work as part of a team with a variety of personalities Ability to stand and walk on the Museum floor for extended periods Some lifting of supplies Part Time, hourly; must be able to work a flexible part time schedule (12 - 25 hours per week) including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts Job Posted by ApplicantPro
