Creative Discovery Museum is one of the top children's museums in the country and is a vital educational resource across our region. The Museum offers science, math, and art outreach programs including hands-on activities to reinforce the concepts being explored. The Museum is searching for an energetic yet patient Outreach Educator to be responsible for teaching various lessons to students from Pre-K through 8th grade. Key Responsibilities Present the outreach lessons as written using research-based teaching methodology Develop a positive rapport with classroom teachers to positively market the education programs and model best teaching practices Organize, repair, and replace materials for the lessons as needed Perform some clerical tasks including contacting teachers and coordinating the distribution of CDM materials Other duties as assigned Key Requirements Degree in Elementary Education or related education field Two years experience teaching and managing children in a classroom setting that required state certification Demonstrated excellence as a classroom teacher in grades K-8, specifically in presentation skills, student rapport and adult interaction Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with a variety of personalities Strong organizational skills Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Part-time, hourly Job Posted by ApplicantPro
