The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables is responsible for the development, management, conservation and protection of forest, parks and wildlife resources and the administration of the province's Crown land. Together we are working with Nova Scotians to build a better future through sustainable natural resource management as we all benefit from the natural health and wealth of the province. Considerations Regarding This Opportunity The relief roster will be used to fill vacancies in the Central Region with offices located in Oxford, Parrsboro, Windsor, Bible Hill, Truro, Middle Musquodoboit, Sheet Harbour, Jeddore & Waverley. Candidates must indicate which location they are applying for. If applying for more than one location, please indicate order of preference. Successful candidates will be placed on a call list in a ranked order corresponding with competition results and contacted as vacancies arise. A relief employee is an employee who is not regularly scheduled by the Employer, but who works relief assignments on an as-needed basis (mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends) as operational requirements demand. As such, a relief employee does not have guaranteed hours of work. Duties may require working irregularly scheduled hours, weekends, evenings and holidays. Must be willing to attend department training in duties related to this position. Please note: With the agreement of the NSGEU Union, a successful seasonal employee currently employed with the Province will assume the status of “Temporary Relief” when placed on this relief roster.
